RR Pretty Mummy

Many of you who actually know me, know my love for customisable restraints, mummification, tape and latex. And then Marine makes this. Be prepared for a LONG read, this may be the single most customisable restraint in SL.

Appearance

  Where to begin? There are four materials in here, latex, shrink wrap, tape and bandage. And these can be made transparent, thanks to good design and fitted mesh. There are alphas included for those that need them, though naturally you won't be able to use transparent with them. There are four main pieces that must be worn, the rest can be any of the materials above.. mixed up as well. You can also do fancy things, like make the bandage wrap appear to be nylon with some transparency and colour changes.

  They all have their own little quirks as well, the base bandage for example has a little bow just under the neck when your torso is snugly wrapped. The shrink wrap appears stretched, while the latex is perfectly smooth and seamless, sprayed on. They also have style menus, allowing for various changes to the restraint, such as uncovering the breasts or hands.

  Not all of it is rigged, so you may need to make some adjustments. They for the most part seem easier than the siren ropes however, which many will be glad to hear. You can also toggle between rigged breasts wrappings and unrigged, for if you use tangos or the like.

  In terms of poses.. You have eight for the upper body, and another eight for the lower. Pet, a leg based on, wil force your arms into Pony no matter what they may of been in originally.. and forces you to hobble along on elbows and knees, something SL hasn't had many options for in the past.

 Many of the poses have a load of extra options in the Style menu, letting you change, for example, the elbow only pose to be a full wrap around your upper arms, 1 strip. 2 strips or 3 strips. Elbows Only, Arms Tight and Pony have 4 extra styles, While the other options do not for the arms.

 Legs wise, you have Five styles for the hobble option (including a dress that can be worn without other bonds), tight, mummy, lie and mummy lie have four, Hogtie has six, frogtie and pet seven.

  The gag comes next, and is quite similar to the RR tape gag, though the Total is a lot stricter this time, with a full wrap around. They are also all one solid prim, so resizing one, even via edit linked, resizes them all, with the exception of the stuffing, which you can of course make bigger, push deeper, or both! You can even wrap the ears, complete with extra restrictions. Throw in the blindfold, and your head will be so snugly wrapped..

  The blindfold has a handy option that lets you cover the top of your head with it as well, for that full all over Mummy look.

 Of all the parts that will take you time to fit, expect the head to be the longest. Getting all of the prims to sit flush with each other perfectly can be quite difficult.

 There's also a pair of nipple pasties, and a crotch covering for good measure, both of unrigged mesh. You can also, if you tie without binding, get a dress like outfit, which is quite nice. Casual minidress.. turned into full out rubber cocoon. What more could you want?

 The biggest issue with all this, due to an SL limitation, all the materials are in separate boxes, and their own prim sets. Meaning once one is fitted, you need to refit all the others. Marine does have an option to make this a lot less hassle, covered below, but you may find some fine tuning is still needed.

 Due to SLs terrible wireskeleton, you may experience a few issues with the fitted mesh, especially on areas such as the breasts. Its unfortunate, but not something that can be fixed without a whole new avatar skeleton been made by SL.

Function

 The top two rows are always related to the binding. All the poses are here, the strictness of the gag and blindfold, etc. In the case of the arms and legs, two more poses are also in the More.. menu.
 
 Arms

  The six bondage poses occupy the top, then you have Untie, Last Plug, which is a shortcut to the last plugin you selected, Loosen/Tighten, when loosened, anyone can access the menu, while tightened they have to do a minigame to try and get in. Think expose and steal keys. You then have Tools, or Special, depending on whether or not you are bound. Tools lets you save, load and reset the restraint, or change it to a Male setting if you happen to be of that persuasion.

 In the Special submenu, you'll find Block, which stops the sub interacting with the environment, Mouselook to force them into first person, Autoref, which is auto refresh, helps to keep your poses from breaking. /77 allows you to turn on menu access via that channel. Alarm On/Off will turn on the domme alert should you cheat around the restraint in some way. Last plug appears again, as does Verbose, which if off, doesn't send messages to local chat. You can also find the Timer.. menu in here, as well as the Plugins button and Main to take you back to the menu.

  Timer.. Will take you to a timelock menu with a variety of options. You can hide the timer from others, and turn it off here of course. Whats more curious is how its down. Used by Marine before, instead of a preset option, you have a range per button, I.E 2h-6h, which will add anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours to the captives timer. You do have standard options like +10mn as well, but its nice to see those other ones still around.

  Plugins.. has 3 pages for the Arms section of the restraint. The first is Control.. which has a ton of RLV related restrictions you can activate or deactivate. The follow up is Cover Hands.. which allows you to wrap the hands.Hitting wrap will apply all touch restrictions, if you then select one of the three other options in there, you'll remove that restriction. Keep touch self active if you don't want to get stuck.

  MummyTex comes next. In here you can select the Section to edit, a surface to also edit and the opacity and tint. Anim follows that, which allows you to setup and adjust all the animations.. or you can use the HUD for a much smoother, easier experience. Allow lets the person who enters it to make themselves exempt from IM or TP blocks. I.E the domme restricts IMs and TP for the captive, but also turns the exempt on for themselves. They will be abel to TP or IM the sub, but no one else will be able to.. Unless also exempt from a previous session.

 Marines usual Autolock follows that, with Style on the second page. There's another Touch restrictions menu next, separate from the hand wrappings. Unwear.. which lets you take their clothes or attachments off if you so wish, which Outfit lets you adjust what they have on, what they are allowed and not allowed to wear, etc, all done via RLV folders.

 RL time lets you change the timer to use a constant timer, even when logged out, as opposed to the standard one that runs down only when the sub is in world. Sit.. is a force sit option, with unsit and No stand options as well. Lastly is Wear, which lets you decide where the sub can wear clothing, and where they can not. (I.E no tops, but underwear allowed)

That about covers the arms..

 Legs

 To save space I'll only cover those options that Arms don't have.

 In Plugins.. You'll find a wriggle menu, to allow you to try and get into another pose. Then there's Cover Feet. This has.. a lot of options, regarding various heels you may have. Its actually a really nice system, allowing the wrapped to go over the heels without clipping. It has options specifically for SLink heels. You can have it wrap all the way to the toes, just over the ankles, or half way down your feet, with or without heels on.


 Gag

The gag works quite a bit differently to the arms, as you might expect. The gag levels make the gag much stricter, in both appearance and function. The max silences you, while the one just below makes you Mmmmph, the other two garble you to various degrees.

 Plugins has some differences again. The Gag RLV menu under it has a lot of options for punishing people who try to cheat, and a very handy option that stops the keyholder blocking your IMs if you dislike that kind of thing. It also has the Wriggle menu that arms lacks, allowing you to adjust your gag. Cover Ears is also here, which allows you to deny them local chat and IM hearing.. Lot of IM restrictions in this kit.

 Very Funny.. Is also in here, which allows you to write on the gag to various degrees, or put an Anime like emote face on it. An example Marine gave was to wrap the person head to toe, with hair free. Colour some black, the legs and head flesh colour, then apply a face with a blank expression.. Anyone watching from a distance would be unable to tell it was a real person. Very handy RP options there.

 Blindfold

  Lastly we have the blindfold. It has Six options for vision blurring, however if you hit just Tie, you'll get a faux blindfold as well.It also contains the all important Shape plugins. This will, when used, save the current size, rotation and position of all the unrigged prims for all parts. You can then undo say, the bandages, and put on the nylons, then load, to save time. You may need to do some minor adjustments, but should save a lot of work.

 My thoughts

 For the most part? I love it. It has a few issues, such as the Shape plugin not woking right for me, and an issue with the SL skeleton causing some odd ridges in the mesh, particularly on the breasts.

 But I love it still. It has so many options that SL bondage has lacked for so long, and the sheer variety of poses, looks and adjustablility this thing has cannot be overlooked. We even got transparent mummification as a possibility at last!

 The price is 1250, I personally say thats worth it for the sheer volume inside.
 

Rf Mesh hood

A new hood on the market, always a nice change.

Appearance

  A pretty customisable hood all in all. Leather, latex and 'Others' textures, with a HUD for easy mixing up handily. It has all of Katies usual textures, as well as four especially for the optional hair. You can do some other minor edits to the appearance via the HUD, like changing it to close via laces, zipper, or none at all, add or remove cat ears, and the optional hair. You can of course adjust shine as well. (enable screen space reflections in your viewer for best results).

  The hood itself has a fair few different looks. Monk, which is open face, Maiden, which blinds, but leaves lower face free, Bane, which is smooth all over and a bit thicker, Full, which is like bane, but with the head harness still on, and less bulky, Gwen, the classic mouth covering style, and tattler, which is just your mouth, nothing else. It has a built in blindfold and gag that can be applied, and earmuffs, but they have nothing visible this time.

  The gag has two styles, Panel and Ball. Oddly the ball is displayed even if the hood is put on full or Gwen, making it clip badly. Panel is fine for that setting.. but ball? Bane hides it. The panel also must be very tight, as you can quite clearly see the impression of a ball, or something of similar shape, under the tight gag. Also when a gag is worn, the hood stretches a little to accommodate your widened mouth, a nice little touch, similar to one the KaS hood uses. Lastly you can hide or show the head harness and collar as you like, via the restraint menu.

  Unfortunately fitting this thing was a pest. The built in resizer is just no use if your head is not the exact shape of the hood. The only thing that I took longer fitting than this would be the siren ropes.

Function

  Without keys, you as the wearer will have access first to the Plugins Menu. In here you'll find all of the usual suspects, including the sadly not so great resizer,  the ever fun RF plugins (mannequin, catatonic, etc), a fully function RLV menu, sound adjustment, and can deny style change while locked.

  The Style menu si next, and is very bulky. Its far, far easier to use the HUD that comes with it, which I highly recommend. In the style menu, you can freely adjust any single piece of the hood, by going through submenu after submenu.. Or use the HUD to select and change that same piece in seconds.

  Sign is a staple of Katies now. A long list of gestures for your avatar to use to try and express themselves, presumably while gagged. RLV off follows this, with settings bringing up the middle option. Settings is the same as always, Verbose, Expose, update, etc.

  The following option is Leashing. This hood has two leash points, One on the collar, and one on the top. Next up is Take keys, which I'll get to in a minute, then restraints. Lock is the last option.

  If you lock it without keys, you can still unlock it this time. Not quite as cruel as some of Katies gear in that regard. The restraints menu is quite full. You can change the gag type, the hood type, alter the strictness of the gag, as well as what kind of garbling the Pet setting uses. (Mmphs as human, mewls as Kitty, etc). The blindfold has three settings, (faux, half, full).Curiously, you can hide the blindfold even when blinded, which makes sense for the eye covering hoods.. but makes me wonder if dark contacts are used for the open eye ones. Has RP potential for those that want to use blind effects, certainly. Earmuffs, is similar, three settings, all the same as blind.

  Once the keys are taken, the menus rearrange themselves a bit, and a new one appears, timelock. As usual, Katie has split this in two. One that fully releases the hood, and one that merely releases the restrictions, but leaves the hood snugly locked in place. You also get the keys menu. In here you can adjust various things like the master key, sec owners, etc

  Being awhile since I covered them, so adding them here. The crypto-lock, if you succeed in activating it after doing the mini-game, makes the hood inescapable. Katies good old system, the Ice Keys is here as well, always fun since she started using them ohh.. over a year ago? They are pretty much a temporary set of keys that last a set amount of time, before 'melting', and thus losing the holder access to the restraint.

My thoughts

  I like this hood in terms of looks. Plenty of variation. Fitting it was a real pest though, especially the ballgag, which was slightly too high for my mouth. I had to cam into my head to finally be able to edit it individually. Creators (not just Katie) seriously need to invest some time in letting us adjust stuff by X, Y and Z axis individually, not just all at once.

  I can see this getting a lot of use, simply because of all the variations, which is starting to feel like Katies speciality to me. Lots of different looks and types built into one product. Would be handy for kidnap like RP if you could hide it though.

  Price is 600 linden.


  As of next review (or maybe edited into this one), I will be adding a "Would I buy it" bit at the end of the review, which will also have two other peoples input. Might help things along a bit.

Amelie Barbours Gimp Doll

Last normal restraint review for now, possibly for awhile till I find some that actually intrigue me.


Quality

This is well.. A bondage doll suit. It comes with a hood, mittens, gag, blindfold and boots. All of whicha re very well detailed and textured, I can't complain on that part. The problem is the beachballs. You can't remove them, you can't hide them, they are on, and thats it.

From others, most I've spoken to agree that it would be much better if they were, and hell some evn said they'd buy it if they didn't need to have the ridiculous bust. Unfortunatly Amelie Barbour has no interest or desire to make them optional at this time. Shame.

There are a lot of colours options, and the boots come in a seperate box if you want to wear them without the whole suit, which is a plus I suppose. The mittens are also optional if you;d prefer to use your own set.

The good - Seperate boots and mittens if you like, lots of oclours
The bad - The bust, which ruins it in my eyes.

Function

The functionality is.. Interesting.

Right off the bat, unless you want to be stuck for who knows how long, unable to be freed by yourself or others, do not touch the "I AM DOLLY" button.  This ridiculous option that has no description or explanation locks the suit on, gags you, imposes name and lcoation blocking, gives no way to escape and as far as I can tell, rather no timer, or an incredibly long one. This would be fine if there was some warning, but as there isn't.. Don't touch it.

Otherwise its the same as most of her gear. You set it to single key or anyone, if it gets locked in single key the keyholder can unlock it, even if its just you who has the key. Anyone does at it suggests, anyone can lock, everyone bar the bound one can unlock. Unlike most of her gear, this one at least has a timer. The startup menu also lets you adjust appearance.

The gag system is interesting. While the actual appearance of the gag stays the same, the options you choose change how the speech comes out. Quite a good idea in truth, as differant gags do muffle you in differant ways. You can also have a "mantra". From what I coudl tell, this is a message that occasionally plays in local such as "one of us". You can also adjust the name shown in chat when they speak.

If youa re the binder, you can also go into this and hit message, which will let you force them to say something via a channel specified in local.

The blindfold can be turned off, have it shown (imposes soem RLV restrictions such as location and anmes) or full, which of course blinds as well as everything the previous option does. No faux option without RLV restrictions in place.

If you are stuck in I AM DOLLY and possibly by someone else in Single Key mode, peopel get the option to force you to speak, grope you or I believe spank you.

The good - interesting gag system, simple menus, decent options, timer

The terrible - I AM DOLLY button.

DS Technologies - Rubber Puppy

Another review after merely a day? I must be crazy.

I'm using a slightly differant system this time, summarising the good and bad at the end of their sections and leaving the scores area a bit cleaner. Any comments on whether this is better or worse would be appreciated.

Quality


The idea here is to turn the sub into a fetish canine appearing helpless pet. This does that qute well to some extent, all nice tight shiny rubber. The tattoo layer outfit you get with it seems kind of low res though, and a little blurry because of it.

I'm not into puppy play, or the whole animal shaped hood thing, but the textures and design of this one are well done, and it blends quite well with the tattoo layer, alebit slightly more detailed.

The paws on the other hand seem.. Off. The're just flat black or whatever colour your chose, not rubbery at all.

The good - Shiny, actually makes you look like a rubber pup
The bad - Low res texture on the main outfit, paws lack detail.

Function

Quite a lot to say here.

Fromt he subs perspective, this is a tough restraint to deal with. The hud shown is the means by which the sub can act, all of those buttons apparently make you do an emote, however the sub has no way of knowing if an animation happens or not.

This is because the sub is forced into mouselook at all times, if you zoom out, the hud goes pure black, you can see nothing. And its not toggable, which is a strike against it. You can click the hud by holding down alt, which makes you abel to freely move the mouse instead of the camera.

The second strike against it? The only person the sub can IM, or recieve IMs from, is the keyholder. This is of course a major issue as it is also not toggable. At least with most IM blocks, its just you who can't talk, with this you can't recieve messages either.

At first you can;t hear anything, just get a lot of "...". Over time you can 'learn' words You can only know 20 advanced words at one time, and there are about 30 core words as well.

You need to hear a core word 10 times to learn it, with only one time per minute counting. Advanced words take 20 times, only once per 3 minutes counting. You can remove words as well.

We didn't have the time, nor patience, to overly test this, but it seems both interesting and annoying at the same time. Its functionally very well done, but in use it is defiantly only for the heavy puppy play RPers.

I had Lance help me with this, so the following bits on the owners menu are his impressions.

 Hey all

First up, you get an MD style menu, you can only choose to lock, no more. Once inside you can choose to make the captive a stray, a button which has no explaination at all in the NC. What it does is set the boundees home to the location they are at, remove you as owner of the restraint, leave anyone free to take control, and leave the sub locked inside.

You can set a home for the puppy, and use the menu to send them their at any time. It has a mode button, which allows you to cycle between Public (expose), owner and group and just owner. You can leash and timelock as well. Theres also a muzzle, which stops the captive using the Bite command.

There is give treats and give toys as well. Toys can be thrown for the sub to fetch, with various settings that can adjust speed and such. Treats restore a bit of stamina, which I think Aria can cover as I have no idea what its for.

Theres a load of hearing commands, we didn't have much time so we couldn't actually test to see how well the learning worked, but its all done via chat in channel 44 (I.E /44Aria hearing teach girl). You can also rename the puppy using these commands.

Back to me.

Theres training system as well. When bound you can approach people and.. Sniff them once per 30 seconds or so. Sniff someone 10 times and you can see their display name.Theres also scent, which we never goit to test, but apparently it lets you track the trainer and any treats or toys they throw.

There is a stamina "stat" that goes down over time, when it gets low, you need to sleep. It can be raised at the Laps building or at an Agility course. I'm guessing these the buildings outside DSTs store. Every 6 minutes you sleep restores an hours worth of stamina. When sleeping, you are blind, deaf and mute.

The Good - Well done scripting, very good for Puppyplay RPers, very well done hud system
The Bad - Auto IM block, Auto Mouselook, not for casual play,

This box comes with a halfton of skin layer hoods, a latex catsuit, mittens, posture collar and "Isolation panels" that have two gags and a blindfold built in. All of them are very well detailed. The mittens are the hand sack style, just two bags over the hand and buckled in place so the finegrs scratch uselessly at the material. The gag has a panel style, and a breather gag style (more on this in function). Breather has a pump added, otherwise no changes.

I love the catsuit you get with it though. Since I bought this gear nearly 2 years ago now, its been one of my most used outfits. Shiny in the right places, very well designed and generally looks great.

The skin layer hoods use a similar style, but the ones that cover mouth suffer from the same issue as all Skin/Tattoo layer hoods, the lips seem just too clear. I'm all for tight hoods that you can see an impression of the lips through, but this just does noy look right. Thankfully when gagged you can't see them, and to be honest they do look better with the gag active. All the more reason to keep your sub quiet.

I (as usual) recomend using an alpha to hide your hands as opposed to resizing the mittens, far easier and better solution.

They can have their textures changed by saying paneltex, mittentex or collartex in open chat. I had an issue where only the left mitten changed colour however.

There is also a rubber labia and prim nipples in the box.


 Function
 
Starting with the Isolation Panels. You lock them merely by clicking the wearers face. Inside are 3 options. Gag, breathgag and unblindfold. The gag requries you to manually use a channel, else all messages come out as "...". The blindfold of course has a hud that it sends you should you have your eyes covered, but it seems ot only send once per blinding, so if refused, you don;t get spammed by it constantly.

The breath gag has its own quirk. When inflated, you will periodically be required to put a code into a specific channel (a window pops upt o tell you as opposed to a chat message). If you miss it, you faint.

The posture collar does nothing specific, no menus bar collartex, it just holds your head up.

The mittens seem to carry a little bit. Owners, poses and two binding options. The binding positions are simple enough, lock front and lock back. It comes with kneel and nadu built into it for psoes, but you can drop others in. They can then be used via chat commands.

Ultimately this restraint show its age with far too many chat commands and not enough buttons.

Scores

Quality - I can;t fault it much, it looks really good, especially for such an old item now - 9/10
Function - it does do a fair bit, but its quite clunky and needs some optimizing/updating - 6/10
Price - 680 linden. Most outfits of this quality cost more, so thats a plus, especially when combined with decent restraints - 8/10

Doll Life - Mummy Stand

 So! A new comer to the blog for me to review about. Another one I found via the little store of kink, great little place.

Quality

I have to say, I really like the textures this uses. The latex looks great, and the straps are nice, tight and well detailed. It is of course very shiny, which is always a plus. It is however a pain to fit, so I just use a bodyless alpha (Theres plenty of free ones on the marketplace, or feel free to prod me in world and I can send you some.)

The hood is optional. While I do like the skintight design, I kinda wish it had nostril holes instead of a breathing tube through the mouth, but thats personal preferance.

This thing has a half ton of colours, it would take ages to list them all. Lets just say you get a menu that lets you choose straps or body, Under body there are more menus for differant colours, then each one of those has a sub menu for more precise colouring. Only way it could be better is if it used a hud. The straps have less options, but still more than enough.

Function

Its.. Well the RLV menu is jam packed, having a total of 19 options for restricting the vicitm, ranging from basic stuff like touching, to the more annoying IM blocker. It has every restriction you could need really.

It has a bult in blindfold, which in my opinion should be part of the hood. Its wierd that we can't see if we don't have it on after all. It can also force mouselook.

Most importantly? It has a timer! I swear, I cannot understand why every restraint out there does not have one of these. Said timer has an anti-AFK setting as well, if you want to make absolutely sure they are there the whole duration of their helplessness.

When unlocked you can access the Settings menu. You can update from here, adjust the colouring and add or remove owners.

What it lacks is an expose option. A friend and I where testing it, and she couldn't access it at all unless I added her as an owner.

Scores

Quality - I really like this thing, the latex textures just come out so well, at least on my graphical settings. Hoods a nice addition as well. Needs an alpha or two in the box - 9/10
Function - Its good. It has a lot in it, but it needs expose or public. - 7/10

ER Doll Hood

Well.. Figured it was time to get this one out of the way

Quality

I can't really complain here. Its shiny, its latexy, it has a ton of colour options (uses full hexadecimal when you hit custom in the coloring menu, just say the hex number of the appropiate color, I.E #FF0000)


It cna have a sort of mouth hole placed at teh front, not unlike a ring gag I suppose. The buckles on the side of the hood can be hidden, theres some lacing at the back which cna also be hidden. All in all it looks like a decent hood. Shiny as least.

It also coems with a load of jacket layer collars of sorts to make the hood seem to go down around your neck to your shoulders.

It can also have a label put on the front of the hood.

It also has Hair.. If you fork out an extra 300 linden anyway.

Function

And suddenly everything goes wrong. When people buy a hood, they usually expect say.. a gag, maybe a blindfold amoungst other things. This hood? All it has to point out it been a restraint is that it cna be locked on. Literally all the function it carries is solely to adjust its appearance.

If someoen else locks you, they get only unlock, return keys and set label. The captive will get an Escape option which is just "Do you want out? Yes/No". Not an effective restraint at all.

Other Info

As far as I can tell, this hood is for RP purposes only. Its complete lack of any restraint functionality makes it terrible for anything other than that.

RR Isolation Hood and Blindfold

Well here it is, the RR hood, and some people have told me its about time I did this one.



Quality

As you'd expect of Marine, it looks great. Its a tight, thick leather hood, with tight lacing on the back in what is often called the Gwen Style. The open upper face and covered mouth work really well with it.

It has three hair options as well. Up, which is the ponytail, Down, which has hair come out the bottom of the bakc of thood as if it was been pressed down, and none, which of course means you're rather bald, short haired or have it tucked into the hood. You can change which option you use via the Hood Texture plugin

The hood has 9 colours, and can have the laces or skin (the main part) coloured seperately. The hair has 10 colours, and can have the sides, or three seperate middle sections seperatly recoloured to allow for streaks in your hair if you like.

The Blindfold (comes with the hood) matches the hood perfectly, and can be recoloured as well, allowing you to make it the same as the hood, or contrast it to stand out more.

Function

The hood can be locked in four ways, loose, medium, tight and total. Each garbles your messages more, with total just silencing you altogether. It carries alarms should you log in withotu RLV or remove it without permission (I.E when locked), and comes with 8 plugins built in. Two of these plugins are the recolours for the hair and hood. Theres also of course the Realkey.

Theres Autolock, which locks the hood at a later time. It can be set to lock for a certain amount of time, or just indefinatly till the locker releases it. The timer (both autolack and normal) can also be set to RL time if you so wish.

You can adjust some gag options via plugins as well. You can have it monitor and shorten emotes, have it restrict slashes.. Uncertain of how or what it does. Block or restrict IMs (DON'T!) and also affect typing. Lastly there is give keys and "hood.." which just has IM blocking again and can block chat

The blindfold has 6 levels of blinding, each one making it harder to see through the HUD than the last, bar the small hole in the middle. It has RL time, Give keys, Autolock, realkey and the recolour plugins.

The and hood blindfold can be set to silent and/or male via the "tools.." menu, and the "More.." menu has a few more handy things such as allowing you to turn the alarm on and off and lets you choose to hide or show the timers.

When locked, a "Special" menu that has Alarm and Verbose stuff in it comes up, while tools disapears. The "more.." menu gets some timer settings and a button to take you into the full timer menu as well.

Score

As this is technically one restraint in two pieces, on set of scores will do.

Quality - Very high, and quite unique, I know of no other locking hood in this style, most these days are tattoo layer only and have no function at all - 9/10
Function - Carries a lot between the two pieces, does what a hood needs to, all ina ll has plenty built in with a couple of nice extras - 8/10
Price - 450 linden. For what it has, thats very reasonable. - 8/10

Hood

Appearance

Its unique, somewhat like an aviator helmet meets a hood. In terms of look choices you have - 6 rubber textures, 6 leather and 6 metal.Its also mod, so you can freely adjust stuff like shine if you so wished.

The nose holes can be toggled. The gags don't visually change anything, nor does the blindfold. Adjusting whether the hood is in plain locked, unlocked or public modes does change the light on the back of the collar however. Similarly using the earmuffs changes those glowing rings on the side of your hood.

Function


The hood has quite a lot. When you first click, you get the option to lock. From there you get the meat of the options. The first 3 options are tickboxes. Lock, No Touch and Public. If you use public? Yeah, you're stuck unless some kind person turns it off. Or takes you home and plays with you. Either could be fun.

Next up is gags. there are a few options in here, which stack actually. The muffler makes you whisper, the mouth gag option, which is standard gagging really, garbling. Expand is fun, making you very hard to understand . The last one is throat gag.. and this is nasty. It blocks emotes and chat, sending out messages of its own instead of just '...' at least. Also in this menu is Deny emote and Deny IM

The blindfold is next. It uses windlight/environmental settings to blind instead of a HuD, so effective at keeping you blind no matter what. Three levels of blinding. Tint Glass is faint, blur is pretty effective, and blind is.. blind. There's also mouselook here.


The earmuffs are simple enough, three options. Deaf turns the hoods glowing rings red, and makes chat not work. No Emotes apparently fills your ears with white noise, making it hard to concentrate enough to see what people are doing, and No IMs does not need an explanation.

the leash is next, simple to use. Timelock as well, just make sure to turn it on after setting the time up. Appearance lets you adjust the texture to the rubber, leather or metal ones, and turn the nose holes on/off.

In the bottom row there is one option, Advanced. You can make the hood be quiet in local. get you the hood NCs, update it and lastly turn on hardcore mode. Hardcore disables the reset option, and can't be turned off once its on. Use at your own discretion. The reset button turns up if you have RLV off.

Mittens

Appearance

Padded, with a zip running down the back of the mitten and a white pad over your palm. They have the same amount of textures and colours as the hood. The white wristband and pad cannot be adjusted via the appearance menu however, so you'll need to manually use mod to change that. Can also add shine this way.

Function

Functionally, this thing is quite similar to the hood. There's the Public plugin again, same case as the hoods. Turn ti on and you can only hope someone is kind enough to help and/or kidnap you.

Touch is next, it lets you adjust the restrictions on, you guessed it, touching. Near touch, or in other words disabling far touch, is self explanatory. No Objects means you can't touch stuff lying around, not self means nothing you have on, and lastly Not Others doesn't let you mess with others stuff. There's also Not Mittens, meaning you can touch your own mitts.

The inventory menu is a bit different, letting you restrict Images, Notecards, edit or your entire inventory. Those first two especially aren't common to see. After this you get timelock and Appearance, both the same as the hoods. Likewise for Advanced.

My thoughts on both

I like these items, though I admit I don't use em much. They are both good and bad for RP, depending on your captor, and as usual, deny IM makes me go ugh. I suppose for Sci Fi RP though, the hood would be very good.

KaS Hoodcollar

KaS is well known I believe. 5 differant restraints, all of the highest quality. Heres the hood.

This is easily my favorite hood in SL. Its look is excellent, been skintight while still been an actual prim as opposed to a skin. It has 22 differant colours, including ones especially designed to match PoC latex. It includes a ton of options such as gagging and blindfolding, transparency, a timer, leash, a titler and so on.

Its actual looks can be adjusted as well, allowing for the entire face to be open, face covered and the eyes and mouth each can be opened or closed as well. Both of these also have a perforation option, making a sort of mesh appear over the eyes or mouth. Also availble is an option called "pussy mouth".. I think you can guess what that is for, and the people who know me know why I avoid it. But these things aren't built specifically for me, so good to see it been open to a wide range of people.



For owners, this hood can have access to certain menus blocked, as well as an option to stop the sub wandering into regions or sims you don't want them visiting. Theres a hide setting, that lets you keep our hoods on without us wandering around with a smooth shiny finish the entire time. It can also be set to public if you want us poor subs to be vulnerable to everyone we encounter. For subs who feel too locked out, there is an emergancy key that lets you go in and free yourself if needed.

It also has a lot of animations built in, both for solo and for couples.

I'm trying to find something bad to say about this hood, but really.. I can't. Theres personal taste with the mouth option mentioend earlier, but its not down to just mine in the end. If you like hoods, this is THE one to get.
