KDC Straitjacket and Stuffed Ballgag

A double review tonight of some gear from KDC, a store I have yet to do any reveiws for.

Straitjacket

Quality


If KDC does anything amazing, its looks. This straitjacket is probably my favorite looking in SL.. Especially with the latex texture pack installed. However that costs extra, more on this later. The textures are very high quality, the shape works perfectly and looks great. It did however require some heavy customization to fit me properly, once again something not built for a tall slender shape.

There are 15 latex textures, 5 leather and 4 base, all highly detailed and looking great.

Function

This lets it down a fair bit. No hide option so onces it on, you have it in full view at all times, not so good for been discreet. There are a few options. There is of course the recolour, then theres the access settings. They can be set to Anybody, Whitelist, Group or Nobody, seperatly for both locking and unlocking. The whitelist is accessed by right clicking the restraint, hitting edit and going to contents. Theres an NC in there that you double click and add names to.

The last menu is the RLV options. When turned on the restraint can deny rezzing, editing or tough, or be deactivated. You can also select lock in here to let RLV handle the locking system.

Extra info

This straitjacket is brilliant in looks, but those looks carry a price. I usually leave prices till the end of the review, however for this one I need to make an exception. The base SJ costs 550 linden. The leather pack costs 250 linden and the latex costs 350. That comes to a grand total of 1150 linden. Pricey.

Stuffed Ballgag

Quality

As expected, it looks great. Very well detailed, with a hud that lets you adjust the differant parts of the gag colour. There are 9 colour settings for the ball and strap, pus its stitiching, as well as an Orthopedic setting that makes it look like a gag they'd use in an institute. You can also adjust the metal of the gag (the little buckles and studs) to one of 7 colours.

When not in your mouth, the gag hangs around your neck, which is quite nice.

Function

This gag comes with an RLV activator which needs to be attached to make the gag actually well.. Gag you. When clicked, the gag itself will rise up into your mouth and if said RLV activator is attached, will garble you. If its not, you can self garble by using the /100 channel. It also comes with a fingerprint padlock..

This padlock, as far as I can tell, records a persons fingerprints, then allows them to lock or unlock the gag. It attaches to the hud. If you click it on the hud, then click the restraint (gag in this case), it locks it in place. You can then unlock it by repeating the process. Its a little clunky, It only allows on person to be registered on the lock, and can't be copied, meaning you need to buy extras if you want others to lock you in. You can purchase additional locks at the store, or buy keyed ones instead, which can have multiple people.

Quality - If you bought the latex pack, its 10/10, if not.. 8/10
Function - Its not great, lets be honest. It does what it should, but just lacks soemthing - 6/10
Price - 550 (8/10), 800 (7/10), 900 (6/10) or 1150 (4/10)
Average - Too many variables. I dislike this whole texture pack system.

Stuffed Ballgag
Quality - I love how htis looks, 10/10
Function - It works somewhat well, but the lock system is a complete and utter mess - 5/10
Price - 400 linden seems fair.. Although its more like 450 after you buy the extra keys you need. 7/10
Average - 7.5/10

Closing thoughts
Despite its lack of function, I love the SJ, I really do. I really like the gags design as well, but that locking system is downright terrible. You can't use it for normal play effectively.
