RF transport Jacket

New release from Katie at RF tonight, a different kind of straitjacket

Appearance

Transport jackets tend to be sleeveless straitjackets, and apparently are the easiest to escape form if you aren't otherwise tied up underneath.. Or strapped in extra tight over the top, kinda like this one. It appears to made of very thick canvas/latex/leather depending on your choice of texture, with the straps adding ab it more definition, you can see what I resume are the arms making the material bugle lower down. I think the upper form is self explanatory. There's no crotch strap, but Katie says the pantie area works as that so.. Must be *very* tight/thick down there!

There are 9 canvas textures, 10 latex, 10 leather, with the ability to add a few more of you own if you want to. You can freely recolour/texture pretty much every part individually which is nice. White it only has one restraint pose, its not the type of restraint that needs many.. Though maybe having the arms behind as an option would be nice.

It comes with 40 sub anims built in as well, one up on the 39 that the mittens had. The jacket comes in 7 sizes, being rigged mesh, and has an unrigged collar and handles (more on these below) that you can adjust. Also has a click helper (invisi prim over the body) for easier menu access.

Personally I like this things looks.. I am starting to wish that Katie would add a few darker shades for her latex though, blood red instead of bright red for example!

Function

Lets see.. Its got most of the standard RF formula in it. First menu is style, second is Leash. Plugins is next, with nine of the usual RF suspects, including the RLV menu, catatonic, etc. Ignore the bit stating that there are two pages, that's a known bug.

The Sub anims menu is the first one of the next row, fairly simple. Go in, select pose, hit release when you want to stop it. Timelock is split in two, as is usual from RF these days. Timelock to completely free the person, keys back, etc, timebound to merely untie them, but leave them still without keys.

Settings does have a new option - Grab. With the jacket come two handles, mentioned above, that should be attached to the middle straps. These effectively work like a leash, with a bit extra. Someone can Grab you, then you can get a struggle minigame. If you fail it too many times, it presumes your captor is too strong for you to escape from, and leaves you helpless in their grasp. Otherwise the usual menus in here, Expose, Verbose, etc.

The usual key menu is next, with Restraints following. While the options in here have no visible effect (shame! Having the straps visibly tighten would be nice), each level of tightness further restricts you touch capabilities. Tight stops you touching others, Tighter takes away far touch, and Tightest takes away touch world. If you are the domme/keyholder and want to take away touch self, that's in the RLV menu.

Last is Lock/Unlock. I sincerely doubt I need to explain their usage.

Oh, and a warning! Don't lock/strap it without the key unless you want to be helpless. You can't free yourself if you do.

Quality - It looks good, though the material must be VERY thick - 8/10

[H]arsh Straitjacket

I think I'm in love.

Quality

Where do I even begin? This jacket is mesh, and comes in a large variety of sizes, so get the demo first and check which one fits you best.

Once you're fitted.. Well. You should get the jacket on. Its beautifully sculpted, its meshness means it fits out of the box. Even without the alpha, the XS one fitted me near perfectly. The first thing after that? attach the aspect hud so you can fiddle with looks. And it has a ton built in.

Depending on the texture you choose for each part, you can also adjust the colour. The latex texture can't really be adjusted, though I believe Dari plans on adding more as time comes. If you choose one of the white canvasy ones though, colour away to your hearts content. It has the full range of colours you can get in SL as well.

The main body parts have 4 textures to start. A plain black, a white canvas (default), a more grayish one, and black latex. All are stunning, and the latex looks amazing even without the shine option turned on.

The straps work a little differently. The built in collar and crotch strap can be hidden for example, via the aspect hud, as can the chest covering for those that want some exposure on your sub/victim/captive. The stomach is also hidable, as is the crotch covering altogether, allowing for just the very top and sleeves, bolero style.

If you choose the main straps point on the hud, you can recolour them all. They have three textures as well, plain black, and two canvas ones that can be recoloured. Coupled with shine, they can also compliment the latex even more.

Then we get onto poses. This thing comes with 14 different bind poses, and when you change to each one, you even do a little struggle anim, as if testing its strength. They work amazingly well. It also has another 8 poses built in under the animate menu. You can also choose to uncover/cover the hands.

I think the pictures sum up the rest better than I could ever describe.

Function

Obviously theres the aspect hud just mentioned for adjusting its colour/visibility/shinyness/texture. Then there's the flex hud for the actual control. Once activated and detected, you can click on the SJ icon on this hud, and you will come to a menu with 6 options. Owner controls (add/manage owners). The owners also needs a flex hud, though if you previously bought Dari's harness AND the SJ, you should have two anyway.

The next option is lock. Do I really need to explain..? Same for the next, leash. Though it has a few different options. You have the usual grab, post and length, but you also can link it to the various leash points on the SJ, and beckon.. Which I couldn't test alone, but it apparently summons the SJ wearer to your side. If I'm right, I think that force walks/TPs them to you, though they need to be on sim for the HUD to pick them up.

The timelock is pretty nice. You can adjust what stuff with unlock when it runs out. It allows you add to anything from a few seconds to well.. Months at a time. Though truth be told, under a good captor, I could wear this thing for months.

The next menu is animate, covered above, and the next is Bind, also covered somewhat. When bound, you get a few touch restrictions put on for fun, and can struggle by pressing Shift+A/D or Shift +left/right arrow

And one of the best bits? She uses an RLV alpha system. Just throw the alphas available on the marketplace (link included with the restraint) into the RLV folder, and bam, every time you change visibility of your restraint, it attaches the correct alpha.

Extra - Flex hud mini tutorial for owners

As far as I know, it works like this for first time users.

1. Sub wears restraint(s) (harness and/or SJ), wears hud, waits for hud to detect restraints
2. Sub goes into restraint menu, goes to owner, adds the owners.
3. Sub repeats for other restraint if owning both
4. Sub detaches hud, sends hud to owner
5. Owners attaches hud. They should now have access.

That's for the owners without a hud of their own. I think if they already have a hud, its far simpler

1. Sub wears hud, add owner.
2. Owner uses own hud, has access.

If I am wrong about any of this, please let me know!

Maison Broceliande Straitjacket

Another new store, an older one this time that cater mostly to the Ponygirls out there.

Quality

This thing is a unique SJ in SL as far as I know, been quite short, open breasted and made of leather. All in all the textures are done well, the bguckles and straps look good and the mittens used to cover the hands are well designed. Like most pre-V2 gear, it sadly lacks an alpha in the box, so you rather need another hands alpha or to make the mtitens bigger quite often.

My primary complaint about this restraint is the lack of a resizer, so you best be prepared to spend a lot of time resizing and moving the prims around if it doesn't fit out of the box.

Most of the gear from MB is primarily designed around Ponyplay, I think this style of jacket is often used in said play, but its fun for those of us that don't prnace around or neigh as well.

Function

It of course locks, and has 2 positons. A normal cross armed in front one, and a reverse prayer postion of sorts. All controls are done by rather clicking the left mitten or using chat commands. The owner has access to a few commands the sub doesn't, such as Secowners and forcing them into poses. They also can force a mouselook and no touch hud onto the sub, and a Stay command that stops your sub moving.

The sub itself can lock the jacket, bind themselves, set the owner, etc.

The major downfall here? No timelock. Why do so many toys lack them?

Restrained Freedom Multi-cuffs

Yes I know I keep doing RF gear, I have so much of it.. I'll add more shops to the mix later.

Quality

So we start with looks. Theres quite a bit to cover. 4 differant designs for each part, the cuffs, the gag and the blindfold. You have Humane (default), BDSM, Handcuff and rope for the cuffs, the Gag has panel (default), ball, ring and rope. The blindfold has a Panel (default), Scarf, pads and rope. Theres also a built in straitjacket.

All of the designs are well detailed, the straitjacket seems to be canvas, but I hold out hope for a latex one in future (I know what I like, sue me). It has nine arm positions, nine legs positions with an extra position been "Faux Taut", which gets you the chain without the actual hobble I believe. The gag, blindfold and earmuffs all have a faux option as well.

Function

Sit back, this will take awhile.

To start with, we have to decide who we let in. Nealry all access requires a multi-key (comes in the box, or can be bought for 99 linden). Anyone, Land Group, Whitelist, Self and Expose.

Anyone lets anyone with a key into your cuffs, land group lets anyoen with a key and in yoir group in. Whitelist and self let anyone on the whitelist in as well as yourself. Then theres Expose. When in this mode, anyone can get access to the cuffs, IF they do a little mini-game with you. You can;t move while the game is going on, each round has three options for both the victim and captor to choose, and they need to win a certain amount of times to rather force the assaulter out, or to be caught. The captor also has Give up, does as the name suggests, and the victim has surrender, again obvious.

Theres an escape minigame. six options, one is correct per round. hit it and you get one step closer to escape. Hit 3 wrong in a row, you get knocked back one. Both take away from an energy meter, which when empty stops you struggling while it slowly refills.

The gag has 7 settings, including the aforementioned faux. You have thinking, which makes your messages come out as "<name> thinks:...". You have mmph, a fun little one for short term play that makes eveyrthing you say come out as Mmphs and Mms., and silence which does as the name suggests (and is kinda boring, but required I suppose). It has 3 levels of standard gagspeak. Mumble, which is fairly clear, Garble which is somewhat and Incoherant that.. Does as the name suggests.

Three settings for the blindfold. Faux, half and full. Ears have Faux, partial and full. Theres an Accessories menu which has RLV folder access and the typical RLV menu, as well as a relay. Under plugins you can find things such as timelock, and options to lock out style change, verbose and escape. As well as teh PA plugin.. More on this later.

It also has a leash and a load of sub anims built in.

PA plugin

Yep, this funtion is getting a bit to itself.

The PA plugin in your cuffs works with the Paine Asylum at RF. Turn it on and go into the asylum. You can commit yourself by putting on the cuffs and sitting in a wheelchair by following the brightly coloured lines on the floor. When you sit down, you'll instantly be gagged, put in the SJ pose, hobbled and have some settings changed, such as the RLV relay been set to auto and access been set to Anyone.

You'll be TPed upstairs to the daytime room, a sort of common room with soem games, a TV, etc. You are then free to leave this room, but you can't open any other doors without a multi-key.. And to use the key, you need to be untied.

Then theres the Fairies. If you have the PA plugin turned on, they will sometimes pop out and do things to you. There seem to be six in all. three patients (Blue, Green and Pink) which adjust your bondage, sometimes tickle you, then leave you where they found you. Theres then three nurses (Yellow, Orange and Red). I've not met the orange myself, but have sene it on someone else. Red seems to send you to the bedrooms and bind you to a bed quite often, while yellow favours the shock therapy room. Orange.. Who knows?

These fairies can cause you a lot of issues. They don't timelock you, so you rather need to get lucky and have one of them free you, or have a handy staff member around to untie you. From what I;ve seen in there, the staff act as if teh fairies don't exist for RP purposes, so be careful.

From some questioniong, I was able to find out a bit on the fairies. They will grab a patient within 20 meters of themselves, providing theres no nurse also in this 20 meter radius. What this means is a nurse cna be 5 meters from the captive, and a fairy could pop out and nab the patient right there in front of them. I believe the staff need to have the key on to be detected however.

Amelie Barbours Mesh Straitjacket

Another straitjacket today, what can I say, I love the things.

Quality

This thing is a tad.. Odd with quality. Its appearance changes heavily based on viewer settings. If you have lighting and shadows on, you want to edit the restraint (You need to right click on something else, hit edit, then click on the SJ, rigged mesh and all), go to texture and change shinyness to high for the best results.

If you don't have Lighting and shadows on? Set shinyness to low. Regardless of whether you do this or not though, the SJ looks great. Tight as only a mesh product can be, thick, tight straps in key locations, very latexy. Not as many straps as some SJs, but well.. This seems to be the kind of one you pull over your head, not slip in via an opening in the back, going by lack of zip on the back.

It has a colour hud to allow basic colours changes to the buckle, the main body and the straps. You can also go into edit as described earlier, tick the Edit Linked box, hit select face and adjust the straps or body manually this way if you want a specific shade (NOTE: This seems to crash my viewer at times. Uncertain if its just me however)

Function

Its let down a bit here. Theres the aforementioned HuD that lets you alter the restraints colours, and then theres the locking mechanism. Two types. You attach the SJ controller that comes with the restraint, and get an option. Anyone, or Single Key. If you choose Single Key, you can wrap yourself up, and free yourself.. Or be at the mercy of whoever else gets the key first. On Anyone however, it does as it suggests. Anyone can lock you or free you.. But once you're bound, you can't free yourself. Be careful!

It also has a Lift/Drop command. This is sort of like a leash. The person who lifts you carries you around on their shoulder, although there can be a few issues with this looking a bit odd.

Other info

If you take off the Straitjacket controller your arms no longer stay snuggly in front of you, but instead free, albeit still in the SJs sleeves. Could be used for some interesting RP such as breaking out if done right.

KDC Straitjacket and Stuffed Ballgag

A double review tonight of some gear from KDC, a store I have yet to do any reveiws for.

Straitjacket

Quality

If KDC does anything amazing, its looks. This straitjacket is probably my favorite looking in SL.. Especially with the latex texture pack installed. However that costs extra, more on this later. The textures are very high quality, the shape works perfectly and looks great. It did however require some heavy customization to fit me properly, once again something not built for a tall slender shape.

There are 15 latex textures, 5 leather and 4 base, all highly detailed and looking great.

Function

This lets it down a fair bit. No hide option so onces it on, you have it in full view at all times, not so good for been discreet. There are a few options. There is of course the recolour, then theres the access settings. They can be set to Anybody, Whitelist, Group or Nobody, seperatly for both locking and unlocking. The whitelist is accessed by right clicking the restraint, hitting edit and going to contents. Theres an NC in there that you double click and add names to.

The last menu is the RLV options. When turned on the restraint can deny rezzing, editing or tough, or be deactivated. You can also select lock in here to let RLV handle the locking system.

Extra info

This straitjacket is brilliant in looks, but those looks carry a price. I usually leave prices till the end of the review, however for this one I need to make an exception. The base SJ costs 550 linden. The leather pack costs 250 linden and the latex costs 350. That comes to a grand total of 1150 linden. Pricey.

Stuffed Ballgag

Quality

As expected, it looks great. Very well detailed, with a hud that lets you adjust the differant parts of the gag colour. There are 9 colour settings for the ball and strap, pus its stitiching, as well as an Orthopedic setting that makes it look like a gag they'd use in an institute. You can also adjust the metal of the gag (the little buckles and studs) to one of 7 colours.

When not in your mouth, the gag hangs around your neck, which is quite nice.

Function

This gag comes with an RLV activator which needs to be attached to make the gag actually well.. Gag you. When clicked, the gag itself will rise up into your mouth and if said RLV activator is attached, will garble you. If its not, you can self garble by using the /100 channel. It also comes with a fingerprint padlock..

This padlock, as far as I can tell, records a persons fingerprints, then allows them to lock or unlock the gag. It attaches to the hud. If you click it on the hud, then click the restraint (gag in this case), it locks it in place. You can then unlock it by repeating the process. Its a little clunky, It only allows on person to be registered on the lock, and can't be copied, meaning you need to buy extras if you want others to lock you in. You can purchase additional locks at the store, or buy keyed ones instead, which can have multiple people.

Scores

Quality - If you bought the latex pack, its 10/10, if not.. 8/10

Average - Too many variables. I dislike this whole texture pack system.

Stuffed Ballgag
Quality - I love how htis looks, 10/10

Price - 400 linden seems fair.. Although its more like 450 after you buy the extra keys you need. 7/10

Closing thoughts
Despite its lack of function, I love the SJ, I really do. I really like the gags design as well, but that locking system is downright terrible. You can't use it for normal play effectively.

RF Dual SJ (latex) and Secure Boots

Last of the RF week reviews. I still have a few RF pieces left, but will leave them for a later time and get back to doing other creators.

The Dual Straitjacket

Two versions of this you can get, the more traditional one that you'd not be surprised to see in an Asylum, and the latex one which I own.

This is an old item, and isn't quite as customizable as a lot of the more recent devices are. For one its only collour is black. It ha stwo differant designs, one with a breatcutout (which has a lot more strap son the back) and one without. Thanks to the great thing known as ADD that was added sometime ago, we can wear the no cutout one under the cutout one to get the straps without putting ourselves on display. Or you can just wear another black shirt underneath of course.

It has two binding poistions, Forward Strap and Reverse. Forward is the typical SJ pose, arms strappe dsnuggly inf ront of you, whiel reverse is of course them bound behind you.

It has 7 plugins, Leashing, Give Keys, Invisi-cage, the RLV menu (and the typical restrictions contained within) Mannequin, A rleay and Keep Away. For more detail on these plugins I may do an extra post sometime to cover them more thoroughly than I have done so far in the reviews,

Thats really all it carries now.

The Secure Boots

First things first, these are compaible with the RF secure cuffs, which I will review at a later date.

Theres a couple of things to note here. The boots also have a seperate set of thigh cuffs which come with them. These are for all intent and purposes exactly the same as the secure cuffs from the other set, and designed to work with them seamlessly.

The boots themselves look good with 4 differant looks. You cna have them in ankle boot or knee length, and change the boot design to stiletto or ballet. You can also hide the boot altogether, which leaves the cuffs on them showing btu otherwise as if you had no shoes on. They are pretty highly detailed, been nice and shiny and detailed lacing. Thanks to the handy alphas, we don;t need those horrible invisi-prims messing things up either.. If you have an alpha. Its been awhiel since I bought these, so not sure if Katie has included one in the box.

They carry a lot of colour options, allowing you to fine tune the boot to how you want it to look, at least to some extent.

It has 5 plugins. A leash (which also gives out a leash post and handle). It has teh sounds menu ounfd in her other restraints. It also has Aux bound. With this turned on, the Phantom Binder found with some RF products and at the RF sim can bind you, so be careful if you turn it on!

It has cycle bound and future lock. The latter does as expected and locks you at some point in time to be specified in the menu. Cycle bound is, for people like myself who get bored of a single pose for too long, brilliant. It does as the name suggests, and after a preset time, will change what pose you are bound in. And this thing has a LOT of poses.

Under the Restraints menu, there are 4 options. Hobble and Hobble2, Immobile and Repose. Repose I covered in a previous blog, it helps if you get animation glitches. The other 3 all have poistions within. It can bind you in a total of 24 differant poses. That alone makes it one of the BEST restraints in SL for those that like variation.

Otherwise it has the rest of the basic stuff. Expose, Timelock, etc.

Katies most recent straitjacket today. Once again I may be little bit biased due to my love of these things.

First up well.. You can decide from the pics for yourself, but I love this thing. Its tight, its shiyn and if you look at the back, its very secure. Plenty of locking straps to drive even the best lockpicker crazy. For most people it requires an alpha, but Katie has included one in the box which auto-attaches if you strap the SJ on providing its in your RLV folders.

It carries 9 latex colours and an alternate texture called institute, which is the kind you'd expect to find in an asylum. Unless thay make the patients wear latex ones nowadays anyway.. Anyway. The straps carry both latex and leather looks, as does the trim. The metal carries the normal three colours.

Moving on, on the functionality side.. It carries a lot of plugins. 13 to be exact, including the expected leash and RLV menu. It does include full RLV folder access with an excellent menu system, as well as the typical RLV options and a relay. It also carries some sounds, the same ones I covered in an earlier review.

Its blockable of course, and carries some over settings. Expose is as always dangerous to use, theres Verbose, and it also carries with it some items it hands out to the captor under Settings > Get items. A left or right hand leash holder, a leash post and the help notecard.

It has a key system, and also allows for a Master Key and sec owners. The masterkey is somewhat like the RR realkey, although more secure. The key can also be rezzed next to you when you're helpless and anyoen who clicks it will be able to access your restraints via it. Nasty.

It has two positions, Strapped front and strapped back. Not much else you can do with a straitjacket that that. Lastly is carries a load of sub anims to allow you to pose just right for whatever it is you may be doing.

RF week - Double review - Security Jacket and Legbinder

Continuing with my reviews of Katies gear! Today its her security jacket and her legbinder.

Now I may be a little biased here, as my love of straitjackets is nearly unparreled.. But I really quite like how this one looks. The no arm design straitjacket is very poorly represented in SL, so that instantly scores this one some points. Its of course nice and shiny, as latex gear should be. The straps, jacket and laces can all be set to one of nine colours, while the metal has the usual RF three.

Another good thing, it combos nicely with the legbinder I will be reviewing below.

I will say against it, I have to use an alpha to stop my body clipping it. Maybe include one in future updates Katie? (If this has been done, ignore this line and I'll delete it later)

Functionality.. Well it only has one pose built in, but once again, its an armless SJ, what other pose can you really fit in? I can't fault it for not having something it shouldn't really have anyway. It has various plugins, the usual RF ones, the ever present leash and of course an RLV menu with the usual options. It has an escape mini-game (The usual RF one, 3 options, put in the right combination to get out). It can be hidden via the unstrap command, and then of course shown via strap. It can of course be locked.

And.. Thats all for this one. Legbinder next

Theres quite a lot of variance in looks for this one. It has leather or latex textures for one, although when you fit the Binder option, there seems to be only one latex option. The rest cover leather. You can change the latex to some extent via the colours menu, but not much. The same goes for belts, one latex colour, rest leather.

On the above, if I have somehow missed the latex options, please let me know!

It carries the struggle mini-game, and some of the usual plugins, some differant ones. Theres a relay in it, as well as Ice Keys (temporary access) and of course the RLV menu. It doesn't have a leash, though I suppose it doesn't quite fit the restraint to have one. It can be unstrapped to hide it, and strapped back on to bind you back up. When unstrapped, you can turn the chaps on, showing off the binder without restraining you, more like a pair of very loose/bulky trousers. There is of course a timelock.

It has a built in sit AO, to allow you sit on objects without issue. There is also a Re -> option. In here it lets you relace the legbinder, which re-renders the laces on the back incase they aren't showing, and repose, which helps sort out sitting and any possible glithcing.

It has 6 poses. Standing, Hogtie, Kneeling, Lay Belly, Sitting and Lay back. There is also Dance, which makes you stop hopping around on the spot if standing, a fun little extra.

Thats them both done!

Sorry for the delay, RL has being rather hectic this past month and has made getting posts out rather difficult. So to start.. New Relea...
