This one also conviently covers both types of restraint, worn and furniture.
Quality
The new design is quite streamlined. Been mesh it can look brilliant with a low prim count, which always helps. One siude has two small boxes, one been a control box the other containing scissors. The other has its name written in yellow letters going down it.
The machine itself is quite simple, but nice to look at. Its a darkish gray. with a red platform where the captive (or product if you prefer) stands during the wrapping procedure. The actual wrap comes off a small yellow roller that climbs up the machine as it cocoons its victim. The new animation for wrapping is much smoother than the original, and looks significantly better. Katie also informed me she had adjusted it to it will detect avatr height soemwhat, meaning we shouldn't get issues of the cocoon going half way up our heads, or ending down around our waist.
The animations are quite nice as well, Up to your waist or so you struggle to keep your balance, then yoru arms get pinned to your sides from then on up.
The cocoon itself is very nice. Katie called it "latex palletwrap", and it works well. Shiny, tight and in a literal ton of colours, you can't go wrong with it. Unlike the former cocoon that required an invisi prim (which don't work with lighting and shadows on), this one uses an alpha, and furthe rmore lets you hop around, whiel the other left you too rigid to move much. Been rigged mesh of course, it flexes with you as well, making it even better.
Oh and for those that want duct tape, try some of the gray colours, they come out *very* similar.
When fully wrapped, you get a male or female option, another nice addition for those male subs out there.
On one thing - Sometimes the unrigged collar will disapear below your neck. If this happens, in more recent viewers anyway, go into your inventory, right click the wrappings and hit edit. It will let you move it from there without issue.
The cocoon also works well as a trap for heroines for that kinda RP, thanks to Etherea for posing with me again for a pic (bottom left if it isn't obvious)
The good - Shiny, mesh rigged means tight, tons of colour, TAPE
The bad - the cocoon can seem a little bulky at times, you may need to edit the cocoon to see the collar.
Function
The main function of this device is obvious, wrap up someone before they know whats happening. It has two modes, Manual and auto. In manual mode you can freely choose to grab someone and force them on, strip them, wrap them and of course choose the colour. You can also change colour mid wrap, which is handy if you chose the wrong oen I suppose.
Once wrapped, if you change the colour of the wrappings on the machien and regrab the packaged captive, the wrappings will change colour without needing to cut them free or run them through the machine again.
Automatic is differant, it nabs the victim as they walk past, strips em and wraps em up all in one swift move. Unfortunatly you can't set it to auto and not strip, but at least we have manual for that.
You can change who can access the machine as well, whetehr just you, the owner, a group or anyone. You can also turn onr andom colour. When random is on, it will change colour when it nabs someone and wrap em up in it. While doing this, you cannot change the colour yourself however and must turn it off to change your snugly wrapped victims colours.
The escape mini-game is the same as it was before. Get some scissors, attach em and get to work. You have to touch the unrigged collar of the cocoon to access the menu. If the captive touches it, they get a message with a hint on the combo the person needs to do to free you. I won;t post the combinaton here. Watching in despair as you don't get freed is half the fun!
The owner also gets a pair of super scissors, which can function as normal ones or, by clicking the collar then the scissors, cut it off automatically without playing the game.
The good - Options to do it manually or auto, simple to use.
The bad - auto always stripping without option to turn off
Scores
Quality - 9/10
Function - 7/10
Price -
Katie lowered the price!
Again I refrain from scoring price and leave that open to you guys, as I just don't know.
P.S
Lately some people seem to think demanding I review things is good fun. I would love to review stuff that everyone wants me to, but that just can't happen as things stand. Yes I can ask for free copies, though it rubs me the wrong way to do that to sellers, but demanding I actually go out and spend thousands of linden to please you alone is not fair.
In short, stop it or rather send me the item or the money for it. In the meantime I'll continue to review stuff that I actually own or have been sent.
