Double review - RR Leather Vixen restraints and the RR Ballgag

To make up for my lack of reviews the last two days, heres two in one.

RR is probably the one of the most well known restraint makers, not least because of Marine, the builder, been the person who created RLV.

Lets start with the gag.

In terms of looks its.. A ball on a strap. However the detail is still quite high and realistcally built with the rivets and buckles in all the right places, It also makes you drool. In term sof usage, it has 4 levels. Loose, Medium, Tight and Total. Each one garbles your text, groiwng more severe as its tightened, with total been silenced.

It carries a fair few plugins, including basics like a leash and a give key option, to more interesting and complex stuff like the realkey and autolock. In the gag menu under plugins, you can change restrictions such as restrcting emotes and IM blocking (which is a horrible thing). Theres also a color plugin that lets you adjust the colour of the ball, but not the strap unfortunatly.

Thats it for the gag, onto the cuffs!

First thinsg first, the detail here is amazinly good. The collar and cuffs, as wlel as the yoke and u-binder are all of very high quality.

The collar has 4 settings, a simple everyday choker, a "classy" style, then a smallish posture collar and finally a tall posture collar. It allows for all sorts of things in its plugin menus, such as forceTP, force sit, spy (more on this shortly), the realkey, RLV folder access, a titler and more. It cna also be recoloured via the Vixen texture plugin on page 4 of the plugins

The Spy plugin is a nasty little thing in some cases. It lets the owner hear what you and htose around you are syaing, no matter where you are. It tells you where they are, all the avatars around them, going so far as to record it all even when the domme is offline. Quite evil and very privacy invading.

The cuffs have 6 poistions. Front low, Back low, front tight, back tight, a yoke and a u-binder. Plugin wise it carries some of the basics and the collar ones, as well as one called "wriggle" (which is always empty for me, would need to see what happens if a domme had control). It also has a resizer for the yoke bars to make them properly fit your shape.

The leg bindings seems to be all about spreader bars. It has the Taut poistion, which is a short hobble chain. Then a spreader bar, sitting with said bar, lieing with it, hogtied with it, then a hogtie on your side without it. It has an interesting plugin called "lock shoes". As far as I know, this makes a strap appear and go under your heel, and pretty much stops you changing your shoes. Otherwise it has just some of the same plugins as above.

Ballgag
Quality - Its a ballgag, it looks quite real, although it is an older item now with the textures not quite as high detail as some, still a nice piece - 6/10
Function - Its got what you need from a gag, does what you want it to and garbles the poor subs voice - 8/10
Price - 200 linden is a fair price for this, I have no complaints - 8/10
Avergae - 7.5

Vixen Leather
Quality - The quality of this restraint is very high. In terms of looks, few have the detail to match this - 10/10
Function - The lack of arm and leg positions hurts it, but you can't really complain about lack of plugins.. 8/10
Price - Ouch. 1200 linden is a LOT to ask here. 5/10
Average - 7.5

In all seriousness, my minds too fuzzy right now to write a proper review. No idea how many people are actually reading this daily, but felt I best mention the lack of review tonight.

Aria

Ashpodele Latex Gag

A nice little piece of latex tied tightly in your mouth. Gotta love it.


So, starting with looks.. Its fairly simple. A strip of black latex that is tied around teh head and forces the mouth to stay open, and keep any packing in place. Has two differant options. Can be tied with the mouth open, or motuh closed, changable from the options menu, similar to real life cleave and knot gags. It can also be recoloured and the garble can have its channel and severity chanegd via the "Moan" option in the options menu. There is also a sound option, but as I often have SL muted, I'm not entirely sure what this does at this time. I think it makes you actually moan or such when talking. Theres also a penalty option. When locked, this adds more time to the timer everytime you try to talk instead of using the correct channel I believe. Only active when timelocked.


It carries keys (even though its just a strip of latex), has an owner system, can be exposed for anyone to touch and a timelock. Also has the give key option, handy for those of us that are overly cautious in public areas but find someone to play with.

The owner system allows for 1 main owner, some sec owners and a group setting. The group setting adds you currently selected group to it, so make sure to have the right one active before adding.

KaS Hoodcollar

KaS is well known I believe. 5 differant restraints, all of the highest quality. Heres the hood.

This is easily my favorite hood in SL. Its look is excellent, been skintight while still been an actual prim as opposed to a skin. It has 22 differant colours, including ones especially designed to match PoC latex. It includes a ton of options such as gagging and blindfolding, transparency, a timer, leash, a titler and so on.

Its actual looks can be adjusted as well, allowing for the entire face to be open, face covered and the eyes and mouth each can be opened or closed as well. Both of these also have a perforation option, making a sort of mesh appear over the eyes or mouth. Also availble is an option called "pussy mouth".. I think you can guess what that is for, and the people who know me know why I avoid it. But these things aren't built specifically for me, so good to see it been open to a wide range of people.



For owners, this hood can have access to certain menus blocked, as well as an option to stop the sub wandering into regions or sims you don't want them visiting. Theres a hide setting, that lets you keep our hoods on without us wandering around with a smooth shiny finish the entire time. It can also be set to public if you want us poor subs to be vulnerable to everyone we encounter. For subs who feel too locked out, there is an emergancy key that lets you go in and free yourself if needed.

It also has a lot of animations built in, both for solo and for couples.

I'm trying to find something bad to say about this hood, but really.. I can't. Theres personal taste with the mouth option mentioend earlier, but its not down to just mine in the end. If you like hoods, this is THE one to get.

Restrained Freedoms Body Corset

What better way to keep someone helpless than to encase them from head to toe in thick latex?

RFs Body Corset created by Katie Paine is one of the best encasement/mummification restraints in SL, and she seems to be the queen of this area. I know of few others who have branched into this niche of bondage.

Lets start with looks again. The textures are nicely done and look shiny. Up very close the quality seems a little lower, but still very nice. It has two seperate types of texture, Leather and Latex. Each part can be done individually with a fair few colours options. You can also switch the corsets closure appearance between a zip and lacing.

My biggest complaint about this restraint is the legbinder. Not its looks or its functions, but its positioning.. I don't know if its the same for everyone, but no matter how many fresh copies I pulled out, I always had the same issue. It would be perfectly straight in the standing poistion, but when I kneel, lay down or generally any poistion bar straight, the prims would appear to be out of line. its a nuisance to have to make minor adjustments everytime my captor changes how I am bound.. But aside from that, no real complaints to make.

On positions, it comes with plenty.  The corset jacket has 5 differant styles. Mummify is the default, and leaves you with your arms folded away under it and no arm holes. It has an armbinder, an arm sack and two SJ positions (reverse and normal). It also has a boning option which makes your torso rigid.

The legbinder has a few 7 positions, with an extra been a duplicate but differant functioning. You have the basic standing postion, a kneeling, laying down on yoru stomach, another on your back, sitting, hogtied and knee knocked. It also has the option to display only the skirt and a boned postion, identical to the standing, but with your legs rigid, making you unable to hop or move at all.

The hood of course has a built in gag, with various settings. It also has a blindfold that can be applied as faux (only shows the blindfold, no real blinding), half, which blurs your vision and full, which blinds you. It also has earplugs. Partial lets you hear somethings, and full completely blocks any words spoken, but not emotes. It also has accesories in the form of cat ears, twin pigtails and a small ponytail. It can also have boning applied.

It uses a simple key system, allowing anyone to nab the key and bind you if its left hanging. You can also expose it to the public and be at the mercy of anyone whos path you cross. It also has a lot of unique plugins that Katie developed, such as mannequin mode, which makes you freeze if anyone comes close. a future lock, a restraint rotater and so on.

Oh and Katie, if you happen to read this.. Please add a darker red colouring to the latex for future restraints!

Quality - If only it wasn't for that leg corset giving me issues, this woulda been a 10.. 9/10

Kidnapped! Tape bondage set

You find a likely victim, follow them home, then when they leats expect it, grab them! But you want to keep someone you're kidnapping helpless.. And what simple thing works best for that? Tape!

This is the Kidnapped! tape set, and surprisingly its quite unique in SL. Tape restraints seem to be very rare.
It includes the Wrapped Tape Gag, another of their products, which cna be bought seperatly for 250 linden.








Lets start with looks. The tape looks pretty good, especially the gag. The piece that tapes your arms to your chest though looks a bit odd at times, been just a rectangle and more like a strap than a piece of sticky tape. It has 9 colours, silver, blue, pink, white, black, red, green, purple and yellow. The gag can be coloured seperately.

In terms of functionality.. The gag works very well. You first stuff the victims mouth with a piece of cloth, then choose to wrap the tape around it. The arms and legs are done seperatly. The arms unfortunatly only have two poses, simple (wrist) and elbows tied. The legs have a better selection with 5 options. (Stand, sit, lie, lie side and kneel).  When bound it also gives a leash option, and of course a timer.

The gag can have the tape loosened or pressed down on the skin to make the user more muffled (I think, people who put it on me always make sures its as tight as possible.)  It does suffer from a lack of auto-channel though, meaning you get a ton of spam if you forget to put /3 or whichever channel you set it to first.

The leash has a nice little setting in that it can give a handle, which can be dropped or attached to something else to leave the captive stuck somewhere.

It has a simple struggle mini-game. A number between 1 and 10000 is chosen, and you have 12 chances to guess it. If you choose wrong, it tells you if its too low or too high, and you simply adjust as required.

For those of you that like men in bondage, theres a male setting as well.

Retraints -
Quality - Pretty good for the price, and probably unique in SLs oddly lacking tape enviroment. 7/10
Function - It has some good stuff, althought he lack of positions hurts it. 6/10
Price - 500 linden and includes a free gag? Thats pretty good. 8/10
Average - 7/10

Gag -
Quality - Looks very good, better than the other tape gags you see around. - 8/10
Function - Does exactly what you want a gag to, but the lakc of auto-channel is a pain - 7/10
Price - 250 linden is a steal for this if you ask me. 9/10

Amelie Barbours Mesh rubber sleepsack

This one is from the Stuck store at DXW, made by one Amelie Barbour.

Its a fun little piece. It contains two settings. Single Key and Anyone. Single key works like any restraint with keys. You take em and you can free yourself, or let someoene lse take em and leave you helpless unless tehy free you. It also has the Anyone setting. If you use this and zip yourself up well.. You better hope someone nearby is friendly and wants to help a poor little latex girl. You can be bound on your front or on your back, and the can be flipped at anytime. A captor can also pick you up and carry you around.

On the looks.. This one is interesting and varies heavily based on your viewer settings. With all settings on max and shadows on, the restraint looks best if you edit it and put on max shinyness. Wereas if you use lower settings with shadows and lighting off, low shiny looks better. Compare screenshots below. Ultra up top, lower settings below.

What this means is simple. The quality of the top image will vary very heavily on location, while the lower one will always look like that no matter where you are. Ultiamtely you're better with the lower setting as most people don't run on Ultra.

Qualioty - Varies heavily depending on graphical settings. Anywhere from 6/10 to 8/10 depending.
Function - It has some nice little bits, and really, with a sleepsack theres not over much you can do - 6/10
Price - at 899 linden its quite pricey.. On the other hand it is unique, and fun for us encasement lovers - 7/10
Average - 6.5 to 7 depending on graphics

MD Rubber Cuffs

The rubber cuff set from Mesmerize Dungeon. A well known store for latex lovers and bondage goods.


The quality is quite high, you can even see the stiching if you zoom in close enough. All in all they look very good. For those of us that hate having to buy multible copies of things to get more colours, this set is very nice. It has a built in recolour system that lets you edit the ring, the buckle, the border, the main strap, back strap and buckle strap. That allows for a fair bit of customization.

These cuffs have quite a lot of functionality. Plenty of positions for either the legs or arms, and also a fair few combined ones. They are fairly easy to get out of if you have a friend with some spare time. They have quite a few features such as exposing to public, which lets anyone touch them, No Touch, which stops you touching things when bound, the ever popular timelock and quite a bit more.

The owner system (previously missed due to a certain event, see news post) is pretty good. You can set a primary owner who can always access the cuffs, as well as some secondary owners. You can remove secondary, but not primary. To my knowledge you have to reset the cuffs (login withotu RLV, go into plugins and hit reset) to remove the primary owner, or you can possibly get them to remove themselves.

On the escaping. You have two ways. You can use the struggle plugin, or have a friend come over and use the picklock function. For those desperate, you can also log into a non-RLV viewer and use reset.

They are pretty simple to use in comparison to most. I can't speak as a binder, but I've never had anyone grumble when binding me with them about it been difficult.

All in all a very nice set of cuffs.

EDIT: Appraently these cuffs do have an owner system outside of just having somneone lock them. I'll need to invesitgate this. Possible updates coming to this review.

EDIT 2: Apparently there is this system, which I found after a fiar bit of work invlovling finding out my previous Mistress had locked me out of the menu a long time ago and is still counted as primary owner. Will need to fix this before I can continue.

Some who read this may know me, most will likely not. I'm simply someone who loves bondage and latex, be it in SL or otherwise and this blog will cover the many restraints in SL that I find or get my hands on.
